Spain embassy official committed suicide by jumping from the roof in Dhaka

The police recovered the body of a Spanish national from a house in Gulshan area of the capital. His name is Ismael Gil Serrano. His body was recovered on Sunday afternoon. Police say Ismael was an official of the Spanish embassy. He was suffering from mental illness. A suicide note was recovered from the spot.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan Division Deputy Commissioner Rifat Rahman said Ismail's body was recovered from his house on Road No. 103 of Gulshan-2.

He told Bengali Vogue that Ismael committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the house. Talking to the embassy officials, it is known that he was suffering from mental illness.

Police officer Rifat Rahman said, efforts are being made to find out more details of the incident. As per the law, the body will be sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
